Google Emotional Index (2006)

Google Emotional Index is a web-based artwork that provides an evolving and dynamic database of emotional images online. By conducting and displaying a Google image search on words that index a range of emotions, GEI opens a window onto a changing logic of a category of representation in real time. Viewers select images tagged with a specific emotion word that displays onscreen without the original context, which is removed.
